Noctin (Nitrazepam) 5 mg is a benzodiazepine medication prescribed for the short-term management of insomnia, restlessness, and selected seizure disorders. How It Works

Nitrazepam enhances the action of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that reduces excessive brain activity. This calming effect helps induce sleep, maintain improved sleep quality, and suppress abnormal nerve impulses associated with seizures.

Dosage

The standard adult dose of Noctin is 5–10 mg taken at bedtime. Elderly or debilitated patients typically start with a lower dose of 2.5–5 mg.

Dosage and treatment duration must be determined by a healthcare professional. Short-term use is strongly recommended to reduce the risk of tolerance and dependence.
